Welcome to the North Dakota Health Alert Network (NDHAN) website, your source for current information about health emergencies.
The NDHAN serves as a communication network among state and local public health agencies, healthcare providers, hospitals and emergency management officials. Established through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the NDHAN is part of the North Dakota Department of Health's Emergency Preparedness and Response program.
Membership to receive alerts from the Health Alert Network (HAN) is by request only. Please send requests to Barb Winking - HAN Coordinator at bwinking@nd.gov. You MUST Write "Request HAN Alert Notifications" in the subject line of your email. In addition you must provide the following information: name, job title, organization affiliation, phone number(s) in the order you want to be contacted, email address, along with a brief explanation as to why you are requesting access to these alerts.
The information provided on this website is based upon recommendations from the CDC and other health organizations. Please check often for the most up-to-date information.
If you believe that you have been exposed to a biological or chemical agent, or if you believe an intentional biological threat will occur or is occurring, please contact your local health department and/or your local police or other law enforcement agency.
